Gene Kelly Awards |
On May 10, students in the BHS Spring Musical CATS received ten nominations for theater excellence by the Pittsburgh CLO.
Thirty area school districts participated in this year's Gene Kelly Awards which recognizes excellence in musical theater. Baldwin received the following nominations: Best Musical, Best Lighting, Best Scenic Design, Best Choreography, Best Ensemble, Best Crew/Technical Execution, Best Supporting Actress: Courtney Handlovitch, Best Supporting Actor: Connor Doran, Best Direction, and Best All-Student Orchestra.
Pittsburgh CLO’s 20th Annual Gene Kelly Awards will be held at the Benedum Center on Saturday, May 29 at 7:30 PM.

Western Pennsylvania Humane Society |
To benefit the CATS of the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, “CAT care” donations will be collected in the lobby before each performance. Adoptable cats and kittens will also be visiting.

CATS Synopsis |
Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. A true musical theatre phenomenon, CATS opened at London's New London Theatre on May 11, 1981 and ran for a record-setting 21 years. CATS's London success was nearly matched on Broadway where it ran at the Wintergarden Theatre for just over 18 years.
