Last Friday, Honors Physics students at BHS had the opportunity to partner with members of the BHS Music Department to connect the theoretical world of acoustical theory to the real world of music performance. Musicians and physics students alike had the chance to learn how their instruments work from a science perspective. Topics covered included overtones/the Harmonic Series, forced resonance, intonation, Bernoulli's Principle and the effect of temperature on different musical instruments. Thanks to Mrs. Giles and Mr. Steele, as well as our physics students and musicians for helping to make this awesome afternoon a reality!
