Orlando Dress Code
A few students have asked for clarification regarding dress expectations while on the trip.
1. Tank tops allowed, but no cutoff or midriff tops.
2. Hats allowed. (Will help with sun/rain).

The language below is meant to clarify but not contradict/supercede Board Policy #221.
Students are encouraged to take pride in their appearance. In an age of changing styles and freedom of dress, students should select clothing which is complementary to them. When students come to school inappropriately dressed, faculty and administrators will take necessary steps to correct the situation. Shirts or other clothing promoting obscene, profane, and other content likely to disrupt the educational environment, and messages promoting drugs or alcohol are not permitted. Baggy pants or clothing that can conceal items and/or pose a safety hazard are discouraged and can generate reasonable suspicion for subsequent administrative searches and investigation. Pants, skirts, skorts, and shorts must be secured and worn no lower than the waist. Exposed chests or torsos, or half-shirts are not permitted. Undergarments are not to be exposed.

Allowable Dress & Grooming
- Students must wear both a shirt with pants or skirt, or the equivalent, and shoes.
- Shirts and dresses must have fabric in the front and on the sides.
- Clothing must cover undergarments.
- Fabric covering all private parts shall not be see-through.
- Headwear and hair must allow the eyes to be visible and not interfere with the line of sight to any
student or member of the faculty or staff. - Hoodies must allow the student’s face and ears to be visible, and must be removed at the request of a
member of the faculty or staff. - Hats and hoods are prohibited from 7am-3pm while in common areas of the High School.
- Clothing must be suitable for all scheduled classroom activities including physical education,
science labs, industrial arts, and other activities where unique hazards exist. - Specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as sports uniforms or safety gear.
- Non-Allowable Dress & Grooming
- Clothing may not depict, advertise, suggest, or advocate the use of alcohol, tobacco, vaping devices,
marijuana, or any drugs. - Clothing may not depict pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.
- Clothing may not use or depict offensive speech targeting groups based on race, ethnicity,
gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any protected status. - Clothing, including gang identifiers, must not threaten the health or safety of any individual.
- Clothing may not depict, advertise, suggest, or advocate the use of alcohol, tobacco, vaping devices,
